Canon G7 won’t power on
The camera shut on itself suddenly, or won’t turn on, or you can turn on again sometimes.
This weird problem is caused by loose screws too as Canon G9. Please refer this post:

The microphone connector is different from G9. When you take off the top cover, put a small flat screwdriver under the connector (white), gently force the connector up to disconnect it.

Great information: Same as the others…Went to use my G7, won’t start.
Internet search brought me here. Exactly as you pointed out, one loose screw just sitting there on the circuit board. That was easy to get. I looked a little further and another small silver screw fell out.
Put it back together and won’t start. Beyond my expertise to find and replace blown fuse.
Tommorow (June29/09) I’m going to chase a Canon rep and have a LITTLE discussion with him.
So..what’s a good Nikon camera to buy ???????????
Thank You……….John M.
Get the whole board, just getting the fuse and trying to install it is not easy if you don’t have the right tools nor the experience to do it. They had the boards on ebay but I don’t see any now. You can also get them at camerasandparts.com This blog is terrific, the pictures you have up on myfixtips and the perfect details really help a lot of people with this problem. A big thumbs up to myfixtips for helping everyone with this
