    REF: FinePix F470
    The camera lens is stuck “OPEN” I can’t cut the camera off via power button. I remove the battery and the camera will go off. The lens still in the extended position. Any suggestions to solve this issue?
    Note* – screen will light up at power-up and then goes blackist-grey. No menu available.

    @Tim
    If 1) cannot power off, 2) no menu. I’d like to say you need to replace the main board.

    Hi, I have a problem with an S3 IS where the lens will not retract. It makes sounds of trying to retract, but it will not retract. What I would really like to see is how to take the carmera apart to be able to clean out the lens barrel to see if I can get it clear to retract. Have been searching for pictures like you showed for replacing the LCD of the S5. Hope you can help. Thanks.

    Are these kind of problems hard to fix? I am worried about my other camera. It’s a Canon Powershot as well. The zoom in and out lever is getting hard to push. And sometimes it doesn’t work. It’s already out of the warranty that’s why I can’t get it to the authorized service shop.

    Have a Powershot S5 I5. Was working fine until got the famous “Lens Error: Restart Camera”. Tried doing that multiple times, it seems like the camera is trying to move the lens, but it is stick in the zoom position. Hope you can help.
